The term "Vtuber" is the portmanteau "Virtual Youtuber" shortened. Not all Vtubers are youtubers, but many, including all Luxiem members, are.

In essence, Vtubers are just like any other content creator out there, but they use an animated image or model to represent themselves.

There are many reasons individuals may choose to do this, ranging from general anonymity to separating oneself from their online persona.

Others choose the path of a Vtuber to keep a persona that many can look up to, one that lasts the test of time. A symbol.
